Is the dr aware that you are coughing blood? If not he NEEDS TO BE TOLD this is happening.
Coughing up the green stuff is good - it's getting it out of your system. Hopefully the Biaxin will do the trick and the green will turn yellow then white, then clear, then gone.
I tend to stick my head over a pot of water with a towel over my head and breath in the steam - be careful - HOT - or sit in the shower with really hot water - steam helps. Humidifiers help also.
Also, will lay the upper part of my body over the edge of the bed and have hubby gently pound on my back in the lung areas, helps break up some congestion and getting it moving.
Check with your dr/pharmacist BEFORE using over the counter meds with what you are already taking.
I usually take Robitussion with an expecterant to help with the cough and help bring the junk up.
Musinex expecterant always helps with breaking up the mucous also.
Check with your dr/pharmacist BEFORE using over the counter meds with what you are already taking though.
Bronchitis is not fun, I hope you feel better soon.

for chest congestion guaifenesin is the best-only -drug i know of. i use it regularly since having chronic bronchitis from sick building many years ago
it is the active drug in musinex that costs something like 17.00 you can get it pure guaifenesin at the dollar store-15 tabs for 1.00. same stuff
when i couldnt stop coughing the doc gave me tessalon pearls(prescription) but he was very careful with it cuz you can get addicted i guess.
fluids. standing in hot shower. i have even used old fashion vicks when desperate.
when pulmonary specialist gave me guaifenesin he prescribed 600 mg 4 x a day...but that is much higher than over-the -counter dose
i am not a doc-just telling you what my docs give me----you may have other medical conditions and cant take these. good luck.

Castor oil pack on chest will help get rid of the bronchitis and the gunk stuck in there.
Fenugreek tea will help thin the mucus so it isn't so hard to get rid of, and it is also soothing for mucus membranes (can help the throat irritation from all the coughing).
Steam tent: Boil water and make a tent out of a towel so you can breathe in the vapors...can add a few drops of eucalyptus oil to the water and that can help break up the congestion too.
May need something to act as a broncho-dilator - Magnesium is good for this, or talk to your doctor about non-steroidal asthma inhalers.
Do whatever you can to detox...that should also help...
Warm (not too hot, but make it comfortable) bath soaks in epsom salts would also likely be very good.

- Avoid mucus producing foods: gluten; dairy; corn & soy. Some processed food additives can also cause mucus.
Avoid acetaminophen. That can harm both liver & lungs. [Google: acetaminophen, lungs]
Certain culinary foods & herbs - and also some naturopathic herbs - can help. A web search will offer lots more detail.
Drink WATER, green tea. WATER is the BEST thing for the respiratory system to help keep things moving from the inside out. -
