Hello all!

Good news, I think I have found a really good doctor!!

I have read posts here and I have ordered my supply of salt and vitamin C.

I don't know if this sympton has anything to do with Lyme or not...but it will have something to do with the salt and Vitamin C.

I have always had to take water pills since I had my hysterectomy 16 years ago. I never had to take them every day, maybe three days a week.

Now, in the last couple of years, I have had to take them every day.

If I didn't take them everyday, my eyelids would swell and droop, so bad they would cover my tear ducts.

Not until just now have I thought about it...but it has gotten this bad since the tick bite.

Will I be able to continue my water pill when I take the salt and vitamin C?

OOOPs!!! I forgot, not only is it my eyelids that swell.

My legs and ankles will swell so bad that they feel like they will bust. I am sure I swell other places.

Just don't notice as much since I gained weight. This happens if I miss one day of a water pill.

Sounds dangerous to me. One thing counteracts the other.

My suggestion would be to remove regular table salt from your diet.

Buy Real Salt or Himalayan salt. And don't eat out!! They use table salt in most cases.

Salt retains water. Lymetoo is right about removing table salt from your diet. Antiparasitic herbs would be a better choice until you get the water retention down.

Someone on here posted that their water retention went down when starting salt/c. Confusing. If it were me, I would see what your doctor says and decide from there.

My water retention has been with me for 15 years. I am not sure what causes it...doctor didn't tell me.

He just gave me a water pill (Bumetidine) and I have been taking it ever since. But the swelling seems to have gotten worse in the last couple of years.

The ebook says try a dose and see what happens, if nothing bad happens, take the next dose and so on.

If anything negative does happen, Trust me, I will stop completely. I don't need any more problems.

Couldn't go to work today...too sore all over. Today is mostly muscle pain. Feels like I overexcercised except about twice as bad and just about all over my body.

I bought some kind of buffered tablets that was in his book. I think I could take tablets better than drink the stuff.

Here is the reason why Salt C can reduce water retention:

Vitamin C is a natural diuretic!!!

Since your doc prescribed diuretics based upon the assumption that you would need them after a hysterectomy ... take a clue: Take the Vitamin C and ELIMINATE all salt from your diet for a time - just to see how your body reacts!

You say your ankle swelling is not as noticeable since you gained weight - this may be a clue that the "problem" is not as great as your medical professionals may have imagined. Therefore it would be wise to simply take the C without the salt just to watch your water retention issues disappear. (And I believe that they will!) ... and do NOT add any SALT as an antiparasitic, until you get the water retention issues under control!

I agree with glm111 on this - antiparasitic herbs are probably the better choice in your case. But I'm betting that you can kill two birds with one stone if you simply start with the Vitamin C first. Good luck and let us know what you observe!

Good advice about the C from AuntyLynn. I think it was Ipkayak that said her water retention went down doing salt/c. Hope you feel better. Let us know what works.

Okay, I see a potential problem here.
You've been taking a diuretic for fifteen years, yet you still don't know the reason your legs swell so much.

You say the swelling has gotten worse in the last couple years.

I think you really need to be evaluated by your doctor.
WHAT is causing the fluid retention.
Is it due to heart failure?

Does your medication need to be adjusted?
Or changed?

You cannot let something go on for this long without finding out WHY.
I advise you not to start taking large doses of salt until you find out what the medical problem is.

The biggest problem I have about swelling lately are my eyes. The water pills doesn't work as well as they used to concerning the eyes.

I had my heart checked not too long ago, it is fine.

I am begining to wonder if my eyes swelling like they do could be traced back to Lyme.

I have been doing the salt/c since last Monday. I haven't noticed much at all. Today was my first day of three doses.

10:00, 2:00 and 6:00. That is how the ebook told me to do it. I will stay on the three doses a day for this week I think. I work all week.

Since I have cut all table salt, I haven't had much swelling in the legs. It is all in my eyes.
