Has anyone been diagnosed with Iritis due to Lyme disease? What potentially started out as Conjunctivitis last Monday on Jan 18th is now Iritis. I already have attachment of my pupil to the lens of my eye. (its called posterios synechia).

At this point, the doc does not think this attachment/blurred vision will be permanent so fingers crossed but time will tell. For treatment, Ive been giving steroid drops and now pupil dilating drops. Im not thrilled about the steroid, BUT since it is for keeping vision in my eye, I am willing to try anything!! I am seeing an Eye specialist who is lyme friendly next week.

Has anyone else had these issues? Did you continue to have flare ups or was it a onetime thing? Thanks for your input!

No, I could not find it... I searched her a few different options and it did not come up. I see you are in New England... I am aware of 2 LL eye docs in MA. PM me for details.

I had Iritis a few years ago. I was also put on steroid drops but had to stop as it increased my IOP to 48 which didn't respond well to glaucoma drops initially. (steroid responder)

Each time I tried to get off of the steroid drops I would have a severe flare of the Iritis.

Blood vessels ruptured and the pain felt like an ice pick through my eyebrow into my eye. So light sensitive it hurt too much to open my eyes.

Finally I was put on Xibrom eye drops (NSAID).
I still had the Iritis but the drops kept it under control.

My LLMD put me on Cipro. I also did Levaquin but I can't remember if I did Cipro first or the Levaquin.

My follow up with the ophthalmologist showed no more Iritis. She was amazed. Apparently it was bart?

I didn't do any Lyme meds at that time and had already heavily treated Lyme and babesia prior.

Hope this helps.
