Wormwood can refer to artemesia annua or artemisia absinthium.
Artemesia annua is the one used for Babesia.
Artemisinin is the concentrated derivative of the active compound in artemesia annua that fights Babesia.

here is what Stephen Buhner recomends it has been updated .
What herbs are recommended for babesia?
Stephen generally recommends the use of Sida acuta or Alchornea cordifolia or Cryptolepis sanguinolenta for the treatment of babesia these days.
You can get them from woodlandessence.com. His first choice is Sida actua, second is Cryptolepis sanguinolenta. Stephen no longer recommends artemisinin or artemisia for babesia infections. It can work, but whatever you are treating, Sida acuta will work better, especially for babesia or bartonella. Artemisinin use in Babesia treatment was pioneered by Dr. Zhang, a quite brilliant innovation at the time, but it has not resolved all types of Babesia with only about a 50% cure rate in our experience, therefore the switch in our recommendations to focus on Sida acuta as the primary treatment herb. See also: babesia.
Dosages for current Babesia herbs Dear Stephen, Please post the dosage for Sida acuta, ailanthius and whatever else you are now recommending for babesia that is not in the bookThank you. Stephens response:
Sida acuta: -1/2 tsp 3x daily, Ailanthus: from 5 drops 3x daily to tsp 3x daily. Sida acuta/ Cryptolepis/ Alchornea cordifolia blend: -1/2 tsp 3x daily. You could as well do tsp of each of these three tinctures 3x daily.

canadianmama,
I am trying to understand why you think weight lose and a sore on your sons lip would be indicative of babs and not intestinal parasites?
These symptoms really point to G.I. parasites. I was hoping given his high anxiety levels you would keep pursuing the salt/c and antiparasitic herbs.
There is a new post from lymetwister about salt killing babs. Also cloves are said to kill malaria.
The ART herbs by themselves are not enough to kill babs or G.I. parasites. Hoping you reconsider, but of course it's entirely up to you. Wishing you well whatever you decide in this difficult journey. Gael

I would just like to energetically test him against a specific babs herb because he has had a few symptoms that make me think it could be an issue.
Also I have a fear of babs, sound like one of the worst co-infectors.pe
Gael, I certainly haven't written off parasites, he did his day on of salt/c today!
We have no real LLMD- the one we have access to told me detox isn't needed-no that told me all I needed to know about that. We get pretty much free EAV testing, but the practitioner is clear that he is not a lyme specialist. We are totally out of $ for a better doc.
Given all that, I'm always researching to try to make sure I'm covering all of our bases. When I saw sudden muscle loss and mouth sores I thought I need to know more.
Thank you again for all the info! You all are wonderful.

I hear ya. All I was saying is that the salt/c and antiparasitic herb combo which contains ART kills babs as well as other parasites. Art alone is not enough.

The very best for me has been herb pharm artemesia annua . I have tried the others , but think they do not help me much at all . I really notice I stop functioning at all if I stop the Herb pharm artemesia aanua tincture . I read about it here when another member said it made a big difference .Nothing else at all has made as much a difference in my own experience . I do not know why , but it seems to help !

I second about Nutricology artemisinin. I take the "super" version (200mg per pill) and I have only herxed as severely on a few other things and never for as long as I do on this brand of ART.
