Anyone know how to treat painful and twitching legs? They are swollen and painful at night. I take loads of Magnesium and use Arnica salve. Husband wraps legs in elastic bandages & that helps. But they stil twitch, hurt. Use ice packs on low back.
Epson salts bath help a little. I'm so tired and this misery keeps me awake, despite sleeping pills.

In Europe they have an over the counter gel/cream,,,that has a small amount of pain reliever in it. Volteran
In the states you can ask doctor to order ,
Some Walgreen's compound /or mix it...ask for 4% Diclofenac solution.
They started at 1 % ,then pharmacist said .."you know you can get higher doses . So I tried 4. Helps for a few hours.
Then there's day's where nothing works.
I take a pain pill and 1/2 Valium and just try to sleep

Farraday, if you have blood parasites like babesia or bartonella, get your iron levels tested. Mine had tanked and although the infectious diseasse doc diagnosed this, i read between the lines and knew it was the parasites which he won't, of course, test for. The parasites use the iron for their metabolism and don't like to share. My symptoms included horrible charlie horse cramps at all hours of the day. Try clutching while driving with that! Over the counter iron tabs help the iron depletion but you must address the parasites.

Homeopathic Causticum may help. Take the pellets under the tongue; topical homeopathy (such as Arnica gel) is not as effective as oral.
