Any suggestions? I am trying to get the most calories/nutrition with every bite. And I need to eat to take meds. Thanks

- I have to move away from what I might like to the fact that I have this body and I need to put some fuel in it. Just good (real) food, whether I have an appetite or not. Like I'm a car (or struggling toddler). Just get the right fuel in, anyway.
After a few bites, it's funny but then my appetite comes back.
You might think about what you would like IF you had an appetite. Start there. If your appetite is disengaged, though, it's important to then disregard that and "fuel" anyway. -

- Garden herbs always get me interested. Rosemary, thyme, garlic, onions, ginger . . . lemon . . . smell them first and as you add to food as it cooks. The aroma of sauteed onions is a wonderful incentive.
Start with smelling a freshly cut lemon.
GINGER CAPSULES may help ease any unrecognized stomach distress and improve appetite.

I eat lots of chicken vegetable soups loaded with vitamins and nutrition. I also like warm gingerbread with butter. Hummus and salsa is another favorite of mine.

- Quinoa FLAKES - just add boiling water to the flakes in a mug. Cover for a minute and you have some good nutrients.
Ditto to Gael's tagline as they can cause loss of appetite:

From reading all of Gael's posts, I plan to discuss parasites at my next appt-thanks Gael. Although I have to say it kind of scares me. And thanks Keebler for pointing out they can cause loss of appetite. I didn't know that. Really appreiate the input

I started making protein or meal replacement shakes. It seemed easier for me to drink something when I wasn't hungry than to eat something.

- didogs,
Don't be scared or weirded out, every living being can be affected by parasites. It's just that, someone, in this U.S. culture we have been shielded from that reality.
I forget the book's name or the author but think it was Jane Goodall -- about the chimps in Africa, even they KNOW what to do, they have an inner wisdom as to how to lower the parasite load, which specific plants to eat, when, how.
We lost such knowledge long ago but we could learn again, taking a page from the chimps, so to speak (because most doctors are not up to speed). -
