My doctor doesn't want to treat me with IV meds. I have tried so many thngs (some have helped, some have ended up gathering dust on a shelf) but have yet to try IV.
My doctor (LLMD) doesn't want to go down this road with me. He says that my liver will suffer (I do have problems with enzymes being erratic) and he said "anyway, I'd have a hard time getting the insurance's approval."
Anyone out there on a protocol such as IV with a similar situation? I do have other viruses and babs and it's been hard for me to tolerete meds, perhaps because my liver is on overload. I do do liver support and am gluten and sugar free.
I feel like I need to move things up a notch because I'm not getting anywhere. Many thanks if you give a response!

Hi Splash-I have no experience with IV but can tell you my liver enzymes are up and I was immediately pulled off of my meds until they return to normal.
Sorry can't offer you more info. Good luck

You say they are "up". What are the levels?
My son's LFTs actually came down with Rifampin.
But if they are too high, then your doc is correct you don't want to treat but wait until they come down.

What are you doing for detox? Usually milk thisle and alpha lipoic acid keep my liver enzymes in the normal range and I am on IV twice a day.

- As Faithful implies, (and you've said that you do some liver support but was not specific) the methods may some adjustment and that can make all the difference in the world.
Not all liver support works the same way, or it can differ from person to person, even time to time. Maybe a new approach?
LIVER & KIDNEY SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too.
Metabolic conditions that can make Rx tolerance more difficult are also discussed (Porphyria, KPU/HPU, MTHFR, etc.). -

I had liver enzyme spikes when I first started treatment, although I don't believe there was a correlation with being on medicines...I think it was Lyme, a coinfection, or virus.
Anyway, I don't know what changed, but I was able to be on treatment long enough where I guess which ever infection was brought down and more under control. Like others have mentioned, they may actually come down with treatment.
None of my doctors would ever have me on pharmaceutical treatment while my enzymes were up. For many months when my enzymes were at their highest, I was on homeopathics.
I haven't had liver spikes in a year. Hope you can get a resolution! It is a frustrating catch-22.
