Ugh, I went to the park briefly today and saw a deer. I inspected myself for ticks when I got home and saw nothing (also inspected my feet).

Later this evening I found what looks like a little blood under the skin on my foot. It almost looks like a tiny birthmark.

Could this be a tick bite???

I suppose it could be, but to me it seems unlikely. That doesn't look like any of the tick bites I've ever had and I get them very often.

Looks like something a dermatologist needs to look at if it doesn't go away.

Definitely not a mole. It looks like blood under the surface.

It just came up suddenly.

You could be on the safe side an take a dose of doxy for a couple of week. At least a high does for a couple of days.

The two photos are very different. The first one does not seem likely to be a tick bite. The second one, certainly is of concern.

Although the second photo is not your foot and stock photo, it sounds like YOUR mark changed dramatically very fast. If your foot looks like the second photo just overnight, I'd sure be getting to a doctor ASAP for whatever early jump on this you can get.

However, since you've been at LymeNet for about 9 months, I'm thinking you may already be in treatment and have a LLMD.

If so, best to contact them. Of course, these situations always come up at the start of a weekend.

Perhaps some of the Rx you may be on if in current treatment could cover the bases for you but not necessary for all infections that the tick may have carried if this is from a tick bite.

Cool, that's exactly what I was thinking, I started last night.

My camera sucks. It actually looks a lot like the second photo. Ticks are in the nymph stage in my area right now.

I emailed my doc, but haven't heard back. I've been off antibiotics since Decemeber. My body couldn't take them anymore.

Unfortunately, doxy is the only antibiotic I'm not allergic to (I definitely have allergy, my neck swells up).

I already took some leftover doxy last night and this morning.

Does doxy as a prophylactic work against lyme when just bitten by a tick?

I read this article, but since it's by ID doctor's I don't know if I should trust it:
