Previously I have/had C Diff lots of time. My gut has never quite healed since having C Diff. Last week I find out I have a tooth infection from an endodonist on a previously root canaled tooth (surprise surprise right)? The endodontist wants to put me on Zithromax? I'm so reluctant to take it because of my history with C Diff. Has anyone had C Diff and had to take an antibiotic?

UGH, just be sure he doesn't give you clindamycin. That would be one to avoid and many dentists use it. Are you taking tons of probiotics and s.boulardii?? Watching your diet?? Keep your gut in as good a shape as possible. I would go so far as to suggest you begin ingesting fermented vegetables to improve your gut health. PS .. I hope someone has more info for you! -------------------- --Lymetutu-- Opinions, not medical advice!

Zithromax does not aggravate my C.diff. It is one of my go-to abx for that reason. -------------------- Must...find...BRAIN!!!

When I had a tooth infection my LLMD said Zith would not cover it, and recommended Clindamycin for that reason. It was to be taken every 6 hours. Maybe try the alternative route of Ozone injections. After a few treatments it should clear it. Good luck.
