Hello, I talked to a receptionist of a llmd on the phone and she said I could have the tick tested since I saved it. Has anyone ever done this before? Dawn

I test any tick I find that has been attached. I am sure the tests are not 100%, but I think it is worth testing. IgeneX is one place that can do the testing. The information is at http://www.igenex.com/files/ticktest.pdf It costs more to test for each infection, so I typically just test for Lyme. If someone had multiple tick bites, all ticks can be tested together for one price because they were on the same person.

I don't hold much stock in it myself. I got a tick tested thru Igenex once and it came back negative THREE WEEKS LATER. BUT.. I got sick 9 DAYS after the bite! Thankfully, I had begun treatment with doxy on day 1. -------------------- --Lymetutu-- Opinions, not medical advice!

IME a big waste of time. My former "LLMD" used tick testing results to determine whether to treat or not. I had about 5 or 6 ticks test negative while I clearly got sick from the bite. That's a lot of untreated Lyme based on negative tick results. Why bother?
