Does Neuropathy cause inflammation to become severe or does it get worse from inflammation from Lyme and cos if it is from Flagyl. I am trying to figure this out. Hope someone can help.

Thanks.

Hey cat,

I don't know if neuropathy causes inflammation, or inflammation causes the neuropathy to be worse. Neuropathy itself can be very painful and you can have flares or worsening of the condition, or constant non-stop problems with it.

For me, herxing can cause the neuropathy to suddenly reappear and/or become worse (you are on Flagyl). Some days it is just plain old stinking bad for no particular reason that I can tell.

I do know, and I am just rattling here, that meds to treat inflammation don't seem to touch the severe pain from neuropathy (example- ibuprofen). That might lead me to think that perhaps inflammation is not involved in the level of pain you feel? But I could be totally wrong.

One tip that may help is using Tei-Fu oil for that pain. Seems it is about the only relief I can get from that nasty pain.

It comes in a tiny bottle- about $12 for it, but it lasts a LONG time because you need so little of it. Relief from the heavy duty pain lasts (me) about 6 hours.

You may be able to find the Tei-Fu Oil in some health food stores that sell Nature's Sunshine products. I never could, but it can be ordered online, like at Amazon.

Tei fu Essential Oils (0.17 FL OZ) by Nature's Sunshine

If you have any, lavender essential oil can also be used to address the neuropathy pain. It's not as effective as the Tei-Fu oil, but may provide some relief? I find sometimes, if it works, the relief lasts about 2-3 hours.

Be sure to dilute the essential oils if you are sensitive, with Jojoba oil or olive oil. I am ok using them straight, but some may not be.

Hope that helps some. That pain is nasty and wears you out. So sorry you are having to deal with it.

Neuropathy is the end result, not the cause.

As for oils, best to use oils that are pure. Ones that are harvested correctly and processed correctly. Otherwise, you do more harm than good.

(just my opinion)
