Had anemia since birth.
Makes me upset that it was a big deal before menarch, and then from menarch onwards, the general GP kept telling me it was because of menstruation.
The average GP just doesn't believe I take 70mg of ELEMENTAL iron daily. (600 mg ferrous gluconate).
Why don't these docs open their minds? How long does it take for a gp to shutdown their brains and just go through the motions?

- Greta,
Babesia can cause anemia, too. As can other chronic infections, noted in TuTu's post (and others they don't mention, too.) Be sure your LLMD knows about this.
Stinging Nettle helped me get past severe anemia (though does not address infection, it's support). Not at my owm com, puter w/ ergonomic featres and ca'mt use this keybd for long so can't offer detail - but some good info here:
The herb, STINGING NETTLE may serve to compensate for the reaction by calming the the cytokine storm that is often part of a herx reaction. -

They are trained to believe patients make stuff up or lie. That's why the allopathic docs don't think any of us have chronic lyme.

And I just read yesterday that long term use of iron supplements increases the risk for colon cancer.
What is long term I wonder?
