I need thoughts...

I've been on rifampin and doryx for 2 weeks. The last few days my foot pain is OUT OF CONTROL. I had sore soles in am on and off but this is all day and that never happened before. Would you say this is a reaction to the rifampin? A herx? I tested negative so am looking for signs that I do in fact have bart so wondering if this is a reaction to rif.

Thanks!

Oh goodness yes!

Does it feel like your feet are swollen to ten times their size, and when you stand on them the skin will split? Strange swelling under the ankle bone like a ping pong ball is stuck under your skin? Bone pain from your feet to your knees? Bone pain aching worse when you lay down, or put your feet up?

Yes, Bart herx.

Have you had any of the psychological symptoms of Bart flare? Anger irritability agitation, annoyance etc?

Just a heads up... It may be on the way so prepare your mind for it, and any loved ones also.

The pain is rough! For me right now the Bart psych stuff is awful.

Bart is awful, hang in there!

I forgot to add, I tested only for b.henslae and was negative for it.

Bart is a very hard test. Super difficult to grow in the lab.

Galaxy Labs is supposed to be the best but one needs to be off abx for a while and also depends on if the Bart is in the bloodstream when the blood is drawn.

I never had a lot of psyche stuff either, until I started treating Bart.

Maybe about 4 years ago, I had a bit of road rage and sometimes yelled at my bf, but other than that, super easy going, good humored, patient and kind.

Hahaha.

Not anymore [Smile]

Now I feel a few cards short of a full deck.

Yes, based on what you are taking, Bart herx.

Soaking your feet in very warm Epsom salt baths helps-
and working on inflammation.

I've had to take ibuprofen when the pain gets too great, but also take quality Curcumin, systemic enzymes, etc.

Lyme positive PCR blood, and
positive Bartonella henselae Igenex, 2011.
low positive Fry biofilm test, 2012.
Update 7/16- After extensive treatments,
doing okay!
