The last week or so I have had bad kidney pain. This past Wednesday I finally decided to back off antibiotics (Bactrim and Mebendazole) as well as supplements like Cats Claw, Natural Killer Stem, and Paracid Forte to see if that helped the pain go away as it seemed to help last month when this happened.
Instead, the pain got worse in the kidneys, almost throbbing pain on Friday night and some yesterday. I woke up today with my liver enlarged feeling in my right side and some nausea.
Could my liver be failing? I guarantee my liver enzymes are elevated. I have taken occasional vicodin which contains acetominophen when I felt badly working full time since last summer.
Is my liver failing? What do I do? I am afraid I've done irreparable damage to my liver....I am very scared. The kidney pain IS better today but now my liver feels enlarged.
I am taking Milk Thistle and NAC currently as well as drinking cranberry juice, lemon water, and eating watermelon to try and help my liver. Just very worried now.

Could you go get your blood drawn to check your liver enzymes? Get in before the holiday,
even a walk in clinic, tell them you've had high enzymes before, feels that way again, and get results ASAP?
I think that will be the only thing to put you at ease- and on medications, they should be checked every 4-8 weeks, anyway...
Sounds like you are taking the helpful supplements right now- could add dandelion tea, lipo glutathione.

Clint, I know your fears. I've had the ol' pancreas riding on it's last leg.
I've heard that the liver doesn't hurt irregardless of it's condition.
So, I'm not sure it is the liver. Maybe tummy or gallbladder. Could be pancreas.
Acute pancreatits pain should go away within seven days after stopping meds. The liver makes remarkable recovery in two week of abstinence.
I think you'll okay, but I would stop everything for now, until you get some blood drawn.
Check amylase, lipase (panc.), ALT, AST, GGT (liver), and try not to worry. Fear makes the pain worse. Do you find it improves when sleeping?

I did a urine screen and blood draw today. There was traces of blood in my urine - he said it could be a kidney stone, infection or tumor. He said unlikely to be infection, because there was no Leukocytes in my urine. I'm afraid it's cancer or tumor. Have ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow morning

Blood in the urine can also be caused by babesia -- especially if you are treating that infection. Usually the number of red blood cells in the urine will just be slightly elevated. Hubby had this show up from time to time. I am pretty sure even the IDSA babesia symptom list includes blood in the urine.

We are here for you, so let us know what they find.
You could have multiple kidney stones. Usually if one presents, more will.
You may also have a developmental problem. One of my husbands ureters was very constricted. He found this out in his 50's. Needed surgery to expand.
The list is endless, most of which is benign. But....I know.
It's human nature not to go to the best place first because it's a prepatory defense mechanism.
If we can prepare for the worst we can handle the worst.
Don't do that to yourself.
You should be able to get the results relatively fast. These are standard blood tests.
Hows the ultrasound look?

Ultrasound she said by law she couldn't tell me a lot but we made a fast friendship and she was trying to tell me things when I asked "how does that look" or "How does this look". The only things she said looked anything from normal (from what I asked her about or got out of her) was she said my liver was "right on the edge" of being enlarged. I asked if she saw anything weird throughout and she said nothing too out of the ordinary and said rest assured when I leave town this weekend or have my mind at ease. She said she has seen livers worse then mine with more markings on them? So I didn't get much out of her but I would think if she saw something bad she would have just told me. I don't know.
Ultrasound came back clean. That is good news. Bloodwork came back with improved liver enzymes - my number went from 70 to 48. Thank you to those who suggested Milk Thistle and other supplements. I am living proof that it works and without this forum I would not have known to do it. Thank you and bless you.
The bad news is that my triglycerides went from 160 to 260 in a short amount of time. Not sure why as I really do watch what I eat, lots of vegtables and such. Just have to tighten up even more, even over the holidays. I am just 31 years old and very paranoid about heart problems
