My LLMD put me on 200mg of doxy 600mg of rifampin and pulse 1000mg of flagyl twice a week. I read
that rifampin weakens the effectiveness of doxy and also that 200mg isn't enough to treat Lyme. Any
opinions on the matter?

Doxy for lyme, rifampin will hit it and flagyl for the cyst form of lyme. That protocol would have put me down for the count.

Most of us can't tolerate huge doses in the beginning. And meds do work synergistically. Three is a good number to be on.
Starting at a lower dose of Doxy makes sense. If you do well, you can always increase. The doses of Rifampin and Flagyl are standard. You may herx quite a bit on this program.

whoops wansnt aware that this was posted twice. Its day 4 on this combinations and I am not really
herxing just the usual shaky hands and a little blurry vision. Other than that so far so good. The
shaky hands is really scary though feel like I have parkisons. Idk if it's nerves or muscle spasms or
what but drives me up the wall.

It has been suggested by sources, members and protocol doctors notes, that I take the 200mg of
doxy all at once and take the 600mg of rifampin all at once away from the doxy, opposite of what my
LLMD told me to do which is split up the doses 12 hours apart and take the doxy and rifampin
together. I want to call and ask her about doing the suggested method but I don't want to offend
her and make her think I am questioning her judgment.

She is probably prescribing a lower dose to start based on her experience with other patients. But if your body is able to tolerate more, you could let her know.
I would email or call her and tell her that you wonder if you should be taking more doxy based on your discussions with other lyme patients and some readings. Also be sure to let her know you are tolerating current regimen without much herxing and you feel you would like to see if you could handle increased dosage of doxy.
If her ego is not too fragile, she will appreciate your input and either explain her reasoning or prescribe a higher dose. Good luck!

Flagy can put you down for the count if you have lyme or not. What you think may be a herx may be a toxic reaction.
