Levaquin/Cipro did a great job with bart. I developed Achilles tendonitis after 30-some days in and was switched to rifabutin.
That was a while ago and now I suspect I may be dealing with bart again. I am thinking of taking one dose of Levaquin to see if I herx, because that is all I need to know.
Has anyone every stopped Levaquin because of tendonitis and retried it down the line?

My legs started hurting so bad I could barely walk. This after only a bout a month. He pulled me off immediately and said no more. He told me the effects could be cumulative even if I started again much later. So he told me not to take levaquin or cipro ever again. I figure better safe than sorry.

I agree with Randibear.
I developed Achilles tendinopathy more than a year after stopping cipro.
My doc says that entire family of antibiotics are out now.
What are you taking with rif? It is supposed to be paired with other abx to prevent resistance.

I had pretty bad tendonitis from it but kept taking it because it was helping with strength and bart symptoms. Never got unbearable, but it was painful.

I would never use the Floraquinilones ( sp ? ) Cipro or leviquin. There are forums with people affected by these drugs

After 2 days on it I couldn't walk up my stairs.
LLMD pulled me off of it & said that's the end of that.
I asked about Cipro some months later & he said NO.

--and for those about to embark on taking a quinolone, be sure to load up with magnesium before, during and after. I swear by a product called ReMag and I suspect I have quinolone damage. They are on my "allergic" list.
