I started my clear liquid diet today and will start the mag citrate at 7 pm and then again at 4 am. I was wondering if I should take any probiotics once I start cleaning out or is it better to wait till after the procedure?

I am not 100% but I would think it would be better to wait until after the procedure.
They will take tissue samples while they're in there.
They are very particular about instructions being followed to a Tee.
Can you bring some probiotics with you to take as soon as they give you "The Juice" after the procedure?

I had a colonoscopy done six weeks ago. Once I started the clear liquid diet I stopped all probiotics until after the procedure.

Yes, you are going to be cleaned out my dear. Don't waste the probiotics now.
Your GI will appreciate the good bacteria after it gets a good cleaning out.

- I agree with others, wait. But it might be good to probiotics be the very first thing introduced back to your gut. Then some "easy foods" like organic veggie juice, humus -- or baba ganoush (pureed roasted eggplant, garlic, olive oil, dash of lemon, sea salt). -

Yup tomorrow! Now I'm concerned the prep isn't going to clean me out enough. I Told the gastro I wanted the mildest prep. He gave me this one. When I met with the secretary to go over things she asked me if I have issues with constipation, when I said yes occasion she told me I needed a different prep.
I told her the doctor was aware and still gave me this prep so she said fine. What if I don't go...

Well - If you don't go- then you also don't go tomorrow for the test.
They can't do the test unless you are totally cleaned out...

I found the horse pills much more to my liking than drinking some awful gallon full of nasty stuff.
Cleaned me out real good. Gastro doc (friend) told me I did a great job cleaning myself out. I said no s&!t Sherlock.

One time I was not given a good program and I was not cleaned out enough. Had to go home and come back two weeks later.
Big pain in the you know what! So I make sure they tank me up with stuff.

Well, its over!!! So glad. Thanks everyone who responded on this thread as well as my other one . The prep was awful, never want to do that again! But the procedures were a breeze. I chose to have it done at an Endoscopy center rather than a hospital. The staff was amazing. The anesthesiologist and his assistant were wonderful. I felt so well cared for.
The doctor said the endoscopy showed gastritis and the colonoscopy showed hemorrhoids as well as a thickening in the colon so he took several biopsies to check for colitis and stuff.
I am dealing with a really awful headache that I can't seem to shake. My stomach is still a mess as well. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel good as new!

So glad it went well!! And sure hope that headache clears soon. It might be because you've detoxed too much... or it could be from the meds they gave you.
So drink lots of water and take antioxidants if you can.

Ellen your colon and upper GI could be mine. Same findings. I asked the doc and told him I wanted the labs to do specific tests for bart, babs, lyme etc.
Too far over an average labs head. I was crazy to think they were going to look for something over their radar in my biopsy. They didn't even know what a bart was????? lol I did give them the medical name.
Some day, just not yet.

I really don't feel my stomach and colon issues are due to Lyme, but the year of antibiotics that I took definitely added to it.

That's all debatable Ellen. That old question, what came first the chicken or the egg?
These bacteria are known to hang out in the GI track and turn our world upside down. They call it food allergies.
Well I've got to wonder if the real allergen is the bacteria and our immune system response to it. Hence, gluten, dairy, beef and sensitivities came about?
Of course it didn't help that the FDA allows our food products to be modified genetically, allows poisons in our food supply, and certainly turns a blind eye to Big Pharma poisons.

I was just reading about this procedure earlier today and how the "prep" is the worst part. The article suggested just getting a colonic instead (of the prep).
