After a recent viral episode where I do supplement with lysine zinc vitamin c I though have read not to overall if you have Lyme disease to supplement ongoing with zinc.
Even with Pyroluria the above article emphasizing that Lyme ends zinc to survive and we shouldn't be supplementing with it.
I don't usually take it ongoing but was curious what you all know and do. I did a search here and seems I did not find any solid info on the subject.
Also the same idea and magnesium and biofilms has Been on my mind for many years as I have been told not to supplement and not even use Epsom salts in baths and just use natural real salts. I have not supplemented with magnesium but I also know magnesuium is I portent to body and functioning.
Same concept in zinc.
So it is confusing as you don't want to add to fed bugs and biofilm production but you don't want to be so strict you are deficient. I am getting blood work soon to test my micronutrients and I hope to get more answers to these questions from my doctors.
I know it's been ongoing kinda debate with various recommendations doctor to doctor. That part makes it harder on us all when opinions and info varies from person to person.
I guess we have to do our research and kinda decide for ourselves.

The bugs will take the minerals they want from your body if you don't supplement.
Also, there are many things that interrupt or prevent biofilm formation...e.g., cooking herbs such as basil, thyme, etc.

Great link Lymetoo ! Will read it all and marked it.
Upon initial reading though it says zinc can not be stored by the body. And the other article I posted says that zinc does get stored and hidden even when Lyme bacteria is present to help ensure it does not help proliferate the bacteria.
That is an important factor in all supplements and evaluating need and how to take etc.
