Husband got home from hiking, and a tick fell off of him and was crawling on the floor.
We put the tick in a Ziploc bag in the fridge. What's the best thing to do with it - just kill it and toss it, or send it somewhere? Where to send it for best results?
We don't think the tick bit him, but not completely sure. But you can bet I'll be watching him like a hawk for Lyme symptoms...
Thanks,

You can send it to Igenex if you want. Their testing for ticks is not perfect.
You have to pay $55+ for each infection.
Hope all will be OK!!!

I put mine in ziplock bags. They live a long time but finally die. Its messy to squish them and you risk contaminating yourself. Freezing wont kill them. I have heard of ppl flushing them and then seeing them crawl back up

Thanks.
I think I might just send it in to IGeneX to see what they can find...wish it didn't cost so much, but I hate not knowing what all nasties it's carrying...
