Is it possible to go to a blood lab with an igenex test kit and request a lyme western blot and coinfections testing without having to have gone to a Drs appointment somewhere first?
My fiancé tested negative on a Elisa so his dr won't test him with a western blot.
We're in massachusetts.

A doctor has to sign the Igenex form requesting the tests.
So, if you can get some doctor to sign the form without an appointment, then all you have to do is get a blood lab to agree to draw the blood and send it to Igenex for you. Be sure they follow the Igenex instructions.
Be sure to get the blood drawn on Mon or Tues. Later in the week can cause a negative test because the blood ends up sitting somewhere over the weekend.
And, just know that the doctor who signs the order is the one who will get the test results. You will not get them.
So, the easiest way to get an Igenex test is to find a doctor who is willing to order it and let his office handle it for you.
Contact the lyme support groups in your area. See Support Groups on the left side of the page. Ask for the name of a doctor who is willing to order the Igenex test for a person.
I expect you will have to have an appointment with the doctor. But when you call to make the appointment, make sure you verify that the doc will sign the Igenex order and the blood will be drawn there.
Then, find out if you have to have another appointment to get the results or if they will just give them to you without one.

The doctor does not have to know about Lyme - just sign off on the tests. You get a copy of the results and can discuss with us or IGeneX or anyone who's knowledgeable.
