Thanks for sharing that. I bought some DE and was going to start taking it soon. I don't think so now.

This is someone's opinion on a blog.

I take it (works great).

Ok its short what he says...
"There is some concern it may suppress sigA production in the gut or lead to hypercoagulation if leaky gut is present as it could get absorbed. The diatoms are sharp and could cause microscopic damage."

The links on that blog relate to BREATHING it - not eating it. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Diatomaceous earth is widely used in livestock for parasite control. If it were stuck in tissues it seems that we would be ingesting it when we eat the meat but I'd have to do more research to verify that.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers it safe as an additive in food.
http://www.fda.gov/Food/IngredientsPackagingLabeling/GRAS/SCOGS/ucm261274.htm

Before giving it up I would do more research since it is so widely used in animals.

I'm not saying it is totally safe but I would look for further information that it is not if I wanted to take it.

I tried it but did not find it to be very helpful despite the fact that I have a problem with parasites.

Pyrantel and albenza are the only things that have helped so far with my problem and I've tried many things over a period of years.

I am not an expert on the use of it but what he says does not make total sense to me.

I think DE is a great binder and I doubt much gets into the blood stream.
