Anyone know that best source for high quality Nigella Sativa Oil (Black Cumin) and Carvacrol (Oil of Oregano)for use by a patient with metastatic cancer?

Google: berberine cancer

include the kind of cancer i.e.,

berberine breast cancer

berberine prostate cancer

berberine metastatic cancer

The product is called Glycox. It is available on Amazon. 500mg TID appears safe.

MUST be run by the patient's doc i.e., accumulate medical abstracts (summaries) to show him.

Combined with chemo = ? Likely not a good idea.

Too much die-off too fast = sepsis = death.

Pancreatic...whole different ballgame...big guns (chemo)needed + OTC supplement:

Breast cancer...big gun (Tamoxifen) + OTC EPA (= OmegaBrite)

I get black cumin oil from Mountain Rose Herbs. I use in food (just before serving) & salads. It can cause a burp back sort of thing, just be aware.

Kind of strong . . . but I use it for different purpose. It seems to help my mouth tissue. By putting it with food, for myself, it lengthens the time it's exposed to my mouth and it's not so strong / gamey taste as if all alone.

Mountain Rose Herbs (in Oregon)

Organic Black Cumin Seed Oil -- then see their other options.

A follow-up companion to Marnie's excellent suggestion:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=Berberine%2C+cancer

PubMed search of medical literature

Berberine, Cancer - 444 abstracts

(you can cross search with more specific terms, of course)

While these links are geared toward lyme, some of the sources would be excellent for your search, too:

Consider, especially for items used with cancer treatments & support:

Summer heat with shipping of any nutritional product or Rx. Oils should not get hot as they can oxidate and then turn on you.

http://www.weather.com/

Weather.com -- look up your ten day forecast -- and the forecast for the location from which the item is to be shipped.

Avoid weekend hold overs. Shipping from a place closer to you is best, if that's an option. Large warehouse suppliers can use hot warehouses, too. So work with a smaller vendor who has a live, smart person who actually knows where their products are stored in this regard.

Sometimes, it pays to bump up your shipping choice if that cuts the time in a hot truck on a hot highway. Some shippers have cooled trucks but I'm not sure how to figure out which ones do.

And, if ANYTHING is ever shipped with dry ice, be aware that dry ice can attract ticks. Not likely from the shipper or even on the road (one would hope) but don't open it up on your back porch, for instance.

Some pharmacies that ship with ice, do so only 2nd day and with a tiny blue ice chunk in a tiny styrofoam box. This is how B12 vials for injection used to be shipped to me -- preservative free.

Drugs.com reports that curcumin has cancer-inhibiting properties.

But not all curcumin products are equal!!!

Unformulated curcumin has very low bioavailability,

and is usually undetectable in the blood following oral ingestion.

Typically only curcumin metabolites,

rather than free curcumin,
are detected in the blood.

Probably the most notable specific curcumin product for those with brain cancer is the special lipidated formulation called Longvida (Verdure Sciences).

This formulation was developed by UCLA scientists working on Alzheimers disease, and was specifically designed to enter the bloodstream as free curcumin and accumulate in brain tissue to higher concentrations than any other curcumin formula.

In testing on mice, brain tissue concentrations of over 5 micromolar were achieved after two weeks using modest dosing of a lipidated curcumin formula

similar to the final Longvida product.
