Next time someone (eg a doctor) tells you chronic Lyme does not exist, please direct them to Dr. MacDonald's video collection of 123 autopsy-proven DEATHS from chronic Lyme , in the published medical literature.
These videos were originally housed elsewhere, but have now been moved to Youtube. They are in 3 parts as follows:

- Thank you, Elana.
Acknowledgment. Discovery. Hope. Action.
This sort of awareness also makes me be kinder with myself when frustration hits and that old self criticism tries to sneak in (and to nurture myself against all those in my life who have no real clue and no desire to understand - and when some of their comments sting even if out of naïve ignorance).
It helps to remember that this is, indeed, a complex and very real matter.
I also feel fortunate to at least know what's going on (for the most part). Before the multiple TBD diagnoses, I was at wit's end, thinking it must be my fault since that's what dozens of doctors, even specialists of all kinds told me (familiar experiences to thousands with lyme, of course).
Even now, after all this time, failure to recover (though never with what would be considered really adequate treatment) . . . well, it still helps me to know minimal effort (even if all that has been accessible for myself, for many) and time cannot erase something this formidable.
I can take some degree of comfort and at least be kinder with myself when people say, "still, after all this time why can't you rally?" sort of thing. I know the deal and that really helps.
Imagine those who had no clue at all, to now be literally on the table with the very kind & inquisitive Dr. MacD.
I thank the spirits of the study "participants" for their part as they now "let us see" some of the mechanics of Bb & why this matters so much - as we then go on to learn what we can to have access to a different outcome.
As we learn more from Dr. MacD's work - and other dedicated researchers - I'll bet that we can learn some more of Bb's nasty tricks so we can also come up with more innovative treatment options.
Even for those with limited treatment options, such research can help us make better decisions for what will be the "major players" for addressing Bb - and drop off what won't.
And, this is not just for us . . . it's really about every human. I really hope those not now affected who don't care to learn more will wake up to the absolute importance of MacD's (and others) research for everyone on the planet.
It'd be fantastic to have medical students explore this, too, as they sure won't get it in their formal training.
Acknowledgment. Discovery. Hope. Action.
