has onyone started off with the full dose or should i work up to it? Buhner says for bad symptoms to start with 1tsp 3x a day then 1/2tsp there after.
Would this be too much?

Are we talking tincture? I can barely handle 5 drops! If you have a tincture, you might want to start very low with the drops.

It is never worth it for me to start a new herb (or often, other med) on full dose. I started this with a low dose, just a few drops, as Catgirl says.
In fact, I am about to resume it for a while.

I agree with the other posters.
I made a major dosing error when my doc first put me on CSA.
(cryptolepsis, sida acuta and alchornea)
I did 1 tsp 3 times per day.
After three days I got encephalitis again. When I returned to my doc to discuss the encephalitis return, I confirmed my dose and realized I had got it drastically wrong.
We both had a good laugh of relief that the cause of the encephalitis was so easy to identify.
