Got my Cd-57 results back after a retest. I'm at a 61 now from a 47. Also got my Brain spec results back everything is normal.

My LLMD and I are a little unclear on the next step I should take. She wants me to get a culture test done but I don't have $600 right now. The only thing I never treated was babesia so I bought some artemisinin and have been taking 200mg twice a day and I don't know if it's in my head but I think I feel a little better??? No idea where to go from here any suggestions?

I've been off all abx for 2 weeks now no change in symptoms.

Your mail box is full.

It's not uncommon for an LLMD to not know what to do next. There is good news, tho, that your spec scan is good and your CD57 has gone up.

I'd pursue treating babesia, as you are doing. If you continue to feel an improvement, get your LLMD to prescribe Mepron or Malerone with the appropriate abx and see how you respond.

I'm very out-of-date with protocols. Is 200mg of Artemisia enough? In the old days it was 500mg 3 times a day but I do know that has changed and I think it evolved not to take it continually but every two weeks on, two week off. I'm sure others will chime in. As I said I'm out-of-date on this stuff.

Is your LLMD basing your continued need for treatment on your cd57? I hope not as many now feel it is not a reliable test.

No she's basing it on the fact that I still have symptoms and don't feel well. Dizzy, muscle aches, chest pain, ear pressure, sleep and vision disturbances, floaties, and occasional heart palps

Congrats on the test results!

You need to take the artemisinin WITH zithromax or biaxin.

What dosage of artemisia and is it common to pulse artemesia now?

Way back when it was 500mg 3X a day but then I think I read that it's not taken that way any more??

Also, what's more commonly used artemisinin or artemisia?

Anyone know?

All my doctor said was three weeks on 1 week off. Other than that I'm going in blind

I don't remember the dosage either. I'm just about positive it was not 500 mg though.

I just know you have to pair it with zith or you will develop resistance to it and it will be useless.

I took artemisinin.

I think 1800 mg for artemisinin is likely a better number, if it is going to be helpful for you. I remember reading that even the difference between 1200/day and 1800/day mattered a lot. I could be a little off and it could be 2400 mg is actually the preferred number.

I wouldn't read too much into that small change in CD57, it can vary a bit over time, both numbers are low.

One bottle of the Super Artemisinin would last a little less than a week. I also feel the liposomal is worth a consideration. When last that was proposed to me, it was proposed I make my own. If there is a good one on the market today, I'd like to hear of it.

Just this week i had Artemisia added by LLMD; 500mg twice daily, 1 week on, off 2 weeks.

He also said i would feel SICK, especially on the first round. I'm on day 1 and so far feel about the same.

This is how my lyme doc treated me 10 years ago, and it got rid of my babesiosis:

Bactrim DS--one pill twice per day, plus

AllergyResearchGroup Artimesinin-- one (100mg) twice per day on an empty stomach

I took the art Friday through Sunday of each week since that is when I experienced babs flares.

For people who don't flare, 3 weeks on and 1 week off is fine.

Artimesinin is much stronger than artimesia. So, be sure which product you are talking about.

My lyme doc preferred the brand I took. You can buy it at the Vitamin Shoppe.

I hope you can pair the art with a med that kills babs and then see what happens. My lyme doc adds the art after the patient has been on the med for a few weeks.

The art made a major difference in my flares right off the bat. It was astonishing what it did. I never got babs flares until I started the Bactrim DS. The flares started as soon as I started the Bactrim, and they were really, really bad.

I would say that to get responses to a post, you have to really consider the title of your post. If you want to know about how to take art, plenty of folks will tell you. But, a post called "CD 57 up but not way up" is not likely to be one that folks will read.

I looked back into my files to find my info for you! We will respond to a well-titled post.

I used Allergy Research Group, too, tho it was artemisia. I took 500mg three times a day. I think it's a solid brand and product.

TF-I'm so glad you posted re Artemisinin vs Artemisia. No idea there were two this close,

in fact, i think my script was written for the former (can barely read it) and i bought the the ladder. I think i'm suppose to be taking

ARtemisinim (and an apparently huge dose at 1000mg daily). Will call LLMD today and confirm. Thanks.

Let us know what you find out about the dosage. Also will you be taking it every day or pulsing it.

If you are pulsing it, how often, what schedule. There seems to be a variety ways in which it is done. Thanks.
