I was just starting treatment for neurolyme with minocycline and it was soon discovered that I cannot tolerate the stuff. Then my LLMD flew the coop. He is settling somewhere further away from me so I have an appt with a new LLMD later this month.
In the meantime, my neurolyme symptoms are off the charts. I would like to go into this appt with some more knowledge and choices about how to treat the nuero stuff.
What other methods, meds or techniques are best for treating neurolyme? My most predominant symptoms are dizziness (not vertigo), loss of memory, word and thought recall problems, severe focus issues.

For orals, aggressive treatment with multiple agents is preferred.
A typical combination approach might include:
A cephalosporin such as: Omnicef, Ceftin or Cedax A macrolide such as: Zithromycin or Biaxin An azole such as: Metronidazole of Tinidazole
Penicillins and tetracyclines are other popular choices.
The combination is usually limited to 3 abx at one time, and only one from each class (you wouldn't take Omnicef and Ceftin at the same time).
There are claims made that IV abx are a better approach for neuro Lyme and specifically Rocephin being highly effective.
