After a month, I had to stop IV Rocephin for 1 week because my insurance stopped covering it. I noticed that many of my most annoying symptoms seemed to improve after about 4 days off the Rocephin.

I resumed taking the IV Rocephin yesterday and my head is a mess! It is as though the Rocephin is targeting an infection in the left side of my face and head. My sinuses are on fire and draining like crazy. I feel burning, tingling, sizzling and a vibrating sensation as well - all pretty pronounced in this area and traveling to my left ear and neck.

Last night, by the time I went to bed, my muscles were sore and I was ready to drop. I'm sure this is from a cytokine storm. Can bacteria or parasites from tick borne illness thrive in just one part of the body like this?

My guess is that the week off was like pulsing. I have been on doxy for the last few months and perhaps the spirochetes got pretty comfy without the rocephin around to zap them?

I just wonder if it is a tick borne bacteria living in this part of my body, or if it could be some other type of pathogen that has invaded my sinuses and cavities nearby that is responding to the Rocephin. I am glad I am on the Rocephin anyhow, because this tells me that it is obviously hitting something in my problem area!

Before I was half way through your post I had the same thought: cytokine storm.

No way to tell for sure, though, at least not that I am aware.
