Interested in people's experience with taking stevia and how it helped or didn't. Thanks!

It sweetens my tea and enriches my life in that way (only in that way, as far as I can tell after many years of using it daily).

I would not look to it in any other way, other than that it also is an excellent support regarding balancing glycemic index.

I've not read all of Sapi's thoughts on it but my guess is that whatever possible benefit beyond a sweet glycemic balancer that she's exploring, it would likely be much more specific in use.

I was getting headaches while using it- never had used it before- and they kept getting worse. I eventually stopped using it and the headaches (right tuff ones) finally, eventually, stopped.

I don't know what that has to do with Lyme, if anything, but that was the only thing I noticed. I tried two times to use it and both times that was my experience.

I'll try again in a month or so just to see if the same thing happens, but if those headaches return, that's my last shot at it.

Most on the market are stevia extracts, not the green raw powder that tastes more like a barn lot (IMO). Many do not find that likeable.

I have tried several times to use the raw but just can't take it. I want the extract in my tea.

Many brands have other ingredients in with them, though, in the processing. And that can make a difference in taste and experience.

If anyone has the exacts details of the stevia as described in Sapi's work, that would be most welcome here as my guess is the context of the question is all about that, not what we like in our tea.

I know people are excited about this but Eva also used household bleach on Borrelia and got a response. You can't drink bleach and if you did it wouldn't be bioavailable anyway.

It's obviously not bad for you but obviously also not curative.

Tincup, one thing about Stevia is that it *lowers* blood sugar. That might be what the headache is about.

I tried raw organic stevia & got herx & each time I took it got a herx, but nothing like the first few times I took it. I had to take about 4-5 packs for the whole day, until I got the herx.

The herxes were very weird & I felt waves of burning in various areas of my body that would quickly dissipate. As if something bursted in an area & then the circulatory system quickly washed the contents of the burst away & dissipated it. So quick burning & weird sensation within a few seconds that popped up all over my body & then an overall unwellness feeling.

I get burning from it too .. because it's high in salicylates.
