I had carpal tunnel years ago, but it was related to my job at the time. Since quitting that job 20 years ago, I haven't had any problems. I've worked as a sign language interpreter and even as a medical transcriptionist where I typed for 8 hours a day and didn't have any problems!
My wrists hurt, and I have tingling in my hands. I have a lidocaine cream that helps, but as soon as that wears off the pain/tingling are back.
Has anyone else experienced or heard of this?

Absolutely. Very common in the symptom lists and in many patient accounts.
Sure was among my first symptoms (just didn't know about lyme for 20 years after my wrists and finger joints went on strike).
Turmeric capsules for now might be of help to you. Magnesium, too.
Wrist braces may be needed for a while or during certain tasks and especially sleep so your hands don't curl.
Of course, a good LLMD can help shine more light on this and if you need any kind of imaging, etc.
Usually, when lyme or other tick borne infections are adequately addressed, the hands find much relief. In the meantime, though safe anti-inflammatories such as turmeric, magnesium are usually your best support methods.
And also avoid pressure on the hands, too. They need to rest and if they hurt like that, even opening a jar could cause physical trauma to the soft tissue. Study your "ergonomics" and habits and find safe ways to do thing.
I recall a time when I could not even turn the key in my car ignition or shift my manual transmission.
When you write, try putting pen between index and middle finger, that eases some of the pressure on the tendon.
Be sure your LLMD looks at your hands and knows the symptoms you experience. If there might be something else going on, they can best determine the path. -

Why no Vitamin B6? I took that for years for ulnar tunnel issues in high school and it seemed to help.
