Hey guys, I'm starting Rifampin and Biaxin for Bartonella.
I'm wondering about Rifampin dosage.
My LLMD prescribed 300mg 2x daily.
I've read in a few places (including the Rifampin monograph) that the usual dose is 600mg 1x daily.
Anyone have any insight into whether it matters which of these dosages I use?

Mine does 300 mg 2 times per day.

Rifampin has a really short half-life, and as your body adjusts it can clear it out even faster (read that somewhere on here I think). I've noticed when I first started at 600 1x/day I would pee orange until ~7pm, but within a week or two I was clearing it all by 2pm.
So 2x/day might make sense if your LLMD wants a "killing" dose in your system for longer.
I love rifampin. Seems to really knock back Bart for me. Good luck.
