I took Flagyl last week Saturday to Tuesday, had to quit for stomach ailments.
So had been off Flagyl for 4 days, and Friday night my knee swelled in the middle of the night. By the time I woke in the morning the swelling was gone.
My stomach felt pretty good, so I tool a half tab (250mg) of Flagyl, per my doctor's suggestion.
And I took a dose that evening also. My knee swelled up overnight again, but this time it didn't go away, it just got bigger and bigger, softball size.
The other interesting thing that happened, was my foot, that had a serious injury 2 years ago when my horse launched off of it, swelled also, and almost feels like it is infected. I mean it just has a nagging pain.
They are both on my right side, which is the side on which the rash appeared. Nothing happening on left side.
So my question is: knowing the Flagyl could cause the knee swelling, why on earth would it cause my injured tissue to swell up?
Anyone have an experience like this? Thanks!
Oh, I stopped the Flagyl again after those 2 doses.

I don't have swelling, but I can say that my Lyme likes to live in the sites of my old injuries. They herx with pain and then get better on the right antibiotics. Amoxil seems to be one of the best at hitting my old injuries. So yeah, I have a similar experience as you except I don't swell.
