I spent a week getting my gut ready, per LLMD's protocol, and started doxy Monday night.Twenty-four hours later, last night, I had stomach pain.
It continues this morning, so I did not take my a.m. dose. (It's 200mg per dose twice a day) WAH!
At this rate, I'll never get better. Stomach does feel a little better after eating (oatmeal) and taking my probiotics which contains S. Boulardi.
Could eating regular pizza crust (healthy spinach pizza but for the crust) for dinner have anything to do with it? In your experience? LLMD was pretty adamant about eating clean, no wheat nor dairy. I cheated. Election night!
Thanks! J.

I hope you are taking the doxy in the MIDDLE of a FULL meal. Otherwise, your stomach will never handle it.
So, eat half the meal, take the doxy, and then eat the other half of the meal.
Never on an empty stomach. And, a snack is not enough protection for your stomach.
And, expect to get yeast in mouth and stomach if you continue eating grains such as oatmeal and bread (pizza crust).
YOu need to follow the Burrascano anti-yeast diet while taking antibiotics. So, meat and non-starchy vegetables (no potatoes). No flour, no grains. No sugar, no fruit. Eat seeds and nuts for snacks.

In my case, I can eat clean, full stomach, and it will do nothing to stop horrible pains doxy and many other abx causes.
I can almost never finish a 5 day course of abx without giving it up due to pain, then terrible digestive problems caused by my gut and stomach in wreck.
The suffering from infections becomes milder compared to those pains, in my case.
There are alternatives to abx that are MUCH milder for the stomach.

Try taking it with a tsp of peanut butter or olive oil when you take it (in the middle of a meal).

Some abx make my stomach hurt. Usually for me I can push through and the pain goes away completely in about 4 days. I know that's not the right solution for everyone, but that's what I have to do. I always did take doxy in the middle of a meal.

Buhner, Chinese, Cowden, Dr. Klinghardt's, traditional known herbs in combination with homeopathic nosodes or remedies: nothing can beat these combinations, in my view.
Nothing. No 'intelligen't combination of drugs can beat what MILLIONS of plant chemicals, and thousands of homeopathic dilutions do to someone, without a lot of side effects.
Add some other type of treatment (hyperbaric chamber, bee venom, photons, rife, alicin, magnetic fields, etc), and you got your answer to stay away from drugs as much as you can.
Drugs can help only short term, in my opinion. Long term, they damage more than help.
Besides, they do not help your immune system, while plant phytochemicals can help much more (and other modalities of treatment, except drugs). ---------------
Some people do react to oat (I can't take it either....).

Brussels, I tend to agree with you, but I just don't think my LLMD does any of that. Did you just educate yourself?
BTW my stomach is much better after taking doxy in middle of meal and no bread or pizza crust.
