I completed my nuclear catheterization test on wednesday. about a week before that I had the nuclear stress test. both were laying down with arms over head for extended period of time.

many years ago I damaged my right shoulder cleaning mom's house after dad died. I was shoving a mattress down the hall. the doctor said I either tore a muscle in my shoulder or had a severe strain and put my arm in a sling. I was in therapy a long time.

well that shoulder hurts so bad I can't breath. when I take a deep breath the pain radiates across the top of my breast, up my shoulder into my neck and my back right shoulder blade.

is there anythingi can do? I'm positive those tests caused this.

Take anti-inflammatories to help get rid of the inflammation that was caused by this.

For example: turmeric, Celebrex, etc.

My husband has had shoulder problems for years. When he had his heart bypass surgery, it left him with bad right shoulder pain and a very hard as a rock muscle in the back right below the shoulder. The pain of that was terrible for a few days.

The shoulder problem has gone on and on--meaning that it hurts him on occasion.

The nurse in the recovery unit said that when they do heart bypass, they put you in a "crucifixion" position with your arms straight out and somewhat down. So, being in that position for a few hours is what caused these pains.

You can also take muscle relaxants at bedtime and see if they help you.

Try heat or cold and whatever else you would do if you bruised the area.

They should give everyone a dozen visits for gentle yet pressure point specific massage & ultrasound therapy after treating them like this.

Turmeric or its stronger "extract" Curcumin are likely to be the most help. Be sure your magnesium is on board 3 x day, too.

Heating pad may be a good calming influence. Do not move it past the point of reason as it will need to not get "ripped" again in order to heal. Do not try to be stoic about this and push your limits.

Some gentle kinds of Qigong movements can help with circulation that will help with healing, though. Heat does that, too, in a different way.

I ain't doing nothing! even breathing hurts. and I wore a very good supportive bra too.

they really should ask patients if they've had any type of shoulder surgery or injury. and especially for large chested women.

crucifixion position is pure torture.

and this was only about half an hour or so twice.

what we have to go through. where's the triquarter???

Be sure to take the meds suggested.. like anti-inflammatories, mag and maybe a muscle relaxant if possible.

I dread having to do the same. I've been getting physical therapy on my shoulder for the past 14 months. It's finally been improving for the past 3 months.

Not that I can remember. My shoulder has been hurting for about 6 years. They found a messed up muscle about 18 months ago on an MRI.

It wasn't until I got acupuncture in May that the muscle really began to calm down. I guess it has been in spasm for years .. just ran from mild to severe over time.

Hi there <<<<< Randi', and any Others who've endured these various heart tests >>>>>,

So far what I've seen mentioned here, is probably the best treatment options.

Wondering if you could alternate heat, and cold to help? Or would the cold make it feel worse?

I've had three of what they call the "Echo" test here. An ultrasound, of the heart in essence. And I know arms above the head on the table, feels like.

I wish they'd include some sort of gentle massage afterward. And for me, when they had to press the wand over part of the incision[3nd test, after the surgery,it was very painful.

The tech apologized, and tried to do things as gently as possible while still getting the picture/read they needed. But it is painful.

Especially painful for anyone w/ joint pain,as you cannot move for 30 minutes or so at a time, from the various positions, they need one in for the tests.

I take Turmeric, daily, and appreciate seeing this question asked here, and some very good answers.

Extra gentle hugs <<<<< randi' >>>>>, hope you start feeling better very quickly. These tests are not fun, tho' necessary, treat yourself gently, and take some time to heal.

Hi <<<<< randi' >>>>>,

TrekC' has more test/procedures coming up soon, right now, we are both trying to do our Cardio'-size program twice a week, and finish moving.

Our backroom work has been held up for over two months,so hopefully our worker will contact TrekC' today [ our builder works a couple different jobs, and it is hectic.

Hmm, you had a moderate increase in blood glucose? There are a few helpful herbs,if it keeps going up [ such as Blood Sugar Gymnema formulas].

See what's up w/ the Ischemia tho', perhaps they can get you some meds to calm things down. I think, like so many of us, here on Lymenet, Your body is getting way to stressed, the more stresses the more our hearts can be affected.

Jus' Silverwolfi prayin' for Y'all
