- You might consider using stinging nettle leaf instead. I got my iron levels up beautifully years ago when the iron pills were not tolerated. And stinging nettle has a nice range of nutrients to help the natural iron, too.
Stinging nettle leaf never caused any GI distress at all, helped it actually. The nutrients also helped relieve some pain.
there is also a liquid herbal iron-rich supplement - must be refrigerated after opened and used w/in a certain time frame on the label. Starts with an "F" in a dark glass bottle.
Still, also know that MAGNESIUM Citrate (and a few other forms though not all) can often help relieve constipation. However, it might also interfere with iron pills absorption, you'd have to study that to find out.
As BABESIA can cause anemia in the first place and it often goes with lyme, it can be chronic & lower "level" than an acute experience, be sure your LLMD has / still is considering babesia - or other causes of the anemia.
Be sure to get good grass fed beef, lamb or other red muscle meat in your diet, too. And green leafy kale. -

both have iron + herbs. Many good food markets will carry this in their wellness department, too.
If you buy it from Amazon, be certain - certain - that it is not through a 3rd party vendor as you can never tell the quality or history or if it's been sitting in the hot sun over time, etc. -- unless it's a 3rd party vendor you know and trust. -
