My orthopedic doctor recommended that I take glucosamine with chondroitin got knee and shoulder pain.

A friend recommended glucosamine with MSM.

There are so many brands with varying ingredients. And varying prices.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I read somewhere that glucosamine with chondrotin is contradicted in Lyme but I have Lyme brain and can't remember who or where or why?

I do remember LOTS of people with arthritis say it was a blessing for relief of pain.

I will remember eventually but by that time I won't remember that it was you asking. I'm sorry, just thought maybe you should research it first. Hopefully someone will offer their insights. I will ask LLMD tomor and repost for you.

Lp talks about Cosamine DS, I think. Pretty expensive.

Bartender—thanks for asking your LLMD.

I thought I read glucosamine was contradicted but LLMD says to go ahead and try it.

I did research it when I got home and guess what?
I found it mentioned in Dr B's "Advanced Topics in Lyme Disease" page 27;
https://canlyme.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/burrascano_0905.pdf

"For joint symptoms, Glucosamine can be of long-term benefit to the joints. Do not be misled into buying a product that also contains Chrondrotin, as this chemical does not add anything but can make the product more expensive. Look for a product that contains the herb Boswellia serrata - this is a non-irritative anti-inflammatory."

" Although many generics exist, the Pharmanex product, Cartilage Formular has the right ingrediates and proven efficacy. Expect improvement over time (several weeks) but plan to use this indefinitely to maintain joint health."

I have read Dr B's gold standard on Lyme Disease and I learn something new everytime! He is a genius 💚
