My llmd called me last night explaining that my thyroid panels were all normal ( as I already saw online on my patient portal). She came to the conclusion with the timing that there is now a good possibility Rifabutin did infact cause the hair loss.
It wrecked my WBCs and liver enzymes thats why I stopped it after just a month. She thinks ( as well as I did the whole time) that the Rifabutin was a shock to my system. We're hoping it's reversible and things will get better in time.
I am still keeping my Endo appt next week because of the other symptoms and she agreed.
Don't give up and let someone tell you otherwise. Who cares if you're the "angry bitter woman!" You know only know your body and what's right/ not right and what's going on.

I don't know anything about the drug, but my hair has been falling out for a decade (as well as my son's) and our thyroid tests are always "normal " . My LLMD says it's all from mold
