I have an appointment with Dr. J in NC in about 6 weeks. I have already seen another LLMD but I am not sure she is as knowldgeable as I think Dr. J may be. I think I have only had Lyme (if that is what I have) for about 6 months. At least that is whenI pulled the tick from my head. I want to get the most aggressive treatment I can as I am hoping I am not in the chronic stage yet. My joints hurt and I do have neurosymptoms and I hear people talk about those as chronic lyme, but do you think I can have chronic lyme after only 6 months? Anyway, I want to know if anyone is will ing to share their Dr. J experience with me. Does anyone know how he treats cases that are lesss than one year? Does he have a stuctured approach to his treatment or is it a more " well we can try this....then that and so on...." I would like an overall plan of action. Does his clinic provide that? Any one willing to give me some details can post here or send me email. Thanks for being here and so willing to help, robi

Hi, My daughter started seeing Dr. J in 2001, and I tested in June of last year after being in denial. My mother also see's him too.
He treats all patients differently, depending on symptoms. So it's hard to say what he may do. I know when my daughter went the first time. He talked about symptoms, how long she had been sick and so on. Then he did tons of bloodwork and told us of the plan he felt was best for her. It has worked well. She is doing MUCH better than she has in many years. Now if she will remember to take her antibiotics. You will be pleased. When you have time. Write down a list of symptoms so that you won't forget any and any other details or questions for him. Good Luck!

Hi...I go there too. But am curious as to whether you actually get to see Dr. J.....I have seen him about 3 times in two years. The rest of the time is with his Physician Assistants.

Hi, I wanted to add that you can request any appt to be made with Dr. J if you like. You don't always have to see the Practioners (sp?). I like all of them. Problems here and there but always resolved. Always talk about your feelings if you feel like you aren't getting what you need and they are very open about it.
