Hey guys. Something very odd happened to me today. I was seeing a play and sitting in the front row. A few minutes into it my eyes became unfocused, I had a massive attack of brain fog and became very dizzy and lightheaded. This lasted until the lights went off, then came back when the show started up again. This also happened at the movie theater a few weeks ago, but I didn't make the connection then. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Hi Robert,
Yes. Loud music/sounds that last a while and also bright lights will either trigger a migraine or an episode of vertigo/fogginess/dizziness with me. Do you have other neurological symptoms with you Lyme?

Yes, in fact most of my symptoms are neurological. Severe chronic pain, insomnia, muscle twitches, tingling that sort of thing.

Mine too. Changes in weather can also trigger headaches, vertigo, ear ringing, etc. with me as well.
Maybe when you attend performances you could try wearing tinted glassses and a light duty type of ear plug --just enough of a muffle to soften loud noise? I have no idea if that would help. Just a thought.

Hi I've had such smyptoms for years....only dx'ed with lyme 3+weeks ago, therefore I've developed a lot of coping mechanisms for neuro lyme.
In movie theatres, I sit 3/4 of the way back, preferably on the side eisle..This allows me to see most of the whole room, as well ass the exit lights which give the room some shape. Also, the sound is more defuse on the side, and being able to see the floor gives spacial aid.
Try the same thing at theatre productions...There I like side to middle seating. How far back I sit depends on the theatre. If you want to be up close, aim for a few rows back...off center.
Keep experiementing until you find the most enjoyable solution. It's well worth it!

I am bothered by all of this too along with some big stores..I never sit near the front..I go crazy..
I think some of it, but not all, is due to the postion you must put your neck in to look up..I have a very bad neck and I can't hold that position for very long. I am sure it puts extra strain on the nerves.

COL--me too regarding the driving at night. I always thought it was just poor night vision until you mentioned the lights coming at you.
That's what bugs me when driving at night. I'm fine unless there is traffic coming at me or someone right on my tail with their lights in my rear view mirror.
