Michael, I checked my pulse after my hot tub and showed only a small increase in heart rate. 98--104
I did notice a large drop in blood pressure from 144/88 to 100/66
I also weird out after 20 min or so in the hot tub. I find my body internal temp @ 103-104 when this happens. I run my temp at 107 f in the hottub that is all I can stand.

Could the weirding be metal wasting... magnesium, potassium etc? or a herx ... killing the spirochete? or a combination?
In other words, could replacing the metals eliminate the weirding? Or could the weirding be a good (killing keets) sign?
I'm talking about my pulse rising from 55 to 120. It DOUBLES. That is NOT normal.
What would be normal, as you point out, is that the pulse rises a little bit.
As I mentioned in my initial posting, I asked others in the sauna if they had elevated pulse. They said NO.
I'm sure if they actually did measure their pulse that they would see a little increase in it. But they just kind of gauged it and found nothing unusual about their pulse.

I have been using a dry-heat sauna for the last 40 years.
Used the sauna for every illness on can think of with great success: colds, flues, bronchitis.... Maybe one of the reasons that my lyme stayed below the surface for so many years can document symptoms for the past 45 years. Had to stop using the sauna about 10 years ago, mother sold the house with the sauna! That's when my lyme started to act up.
Yes your heart rate and body temp does go up, this is normal. When your body starts felling weird or the head starts pounding to beat of the heart, you had enough, time to get out. As time goes on this time should increase. If your heart doubles that too much, forgot what the formula is probably that same as you exercise.
Also temp of sauna plays an important part.
Long time ago read a report saying that one should not stay in the sauna for more than 15-20 mins TOPS.
Planning to build my own sauna after going off the PICC. You can build a dry heat sauna for less than $100.00
Happy sweating
