There will be 2 short segments on Lyme disease on Mon & Tues, Nov 15 & 16th,
WACH FOX News at 10pm (channel 6 on TWC - Columbia)

Arielle Riposta took a couple months off work while on IV for Lyme. Now that she's back on the program, she's put together a 2 part segment on Lyme to educate the public and to explain why she was out.

She interviewed me a couple weeks ago, interviewed a young dentist who has had a rough time with LD, & she interviewed Dr J in North Carolina.

When she lived in New Jersey, she did educational work with the Lyme Disease Association.
She's a delightful young lady, & I'm sure she'll make this very informative.

Not only is it just in South Carolina,
I believe it's just in the Midlands of South Carolina.

At least some of the people in the middle of the state will get some reliable info.
That's a lot more than they've been getting.

Shelley, so glad you saw this. I was going to look for your phone number so you'd know about it.

Shelley,
I'm so glad your Mom watched it with you.
It was short but made some important points.

It's been a couple weeks since my interview & then they came back today to film me answering a HotLine Call.
I'll feel a lot better when I see what parts of my interviews they use.

Tune in again tomorrow night for the next episode.
I just hope this ole lady doesn't embarrass herself too much on TV.

Thanks, Shelley.
There were several other points I wanted them to use, but their time is so limited!
It was much more important to quote the Dentist who is a Lyme patient & the Dr who is treating Lyme. They have a lot more credibility than a grandmother on her soapbox.

The coverage was more than I had expected.
They gave 3 or 4 minutes to Lyme disease on both segments (Mon & Tues nights).
I think that's fantastic on a 30 minute news program.

Arielle Riposta was wonderful to work with.
Maybe she'll have lots of e-mails & calls & they'll decide to do a follow-up.

Thank you, Arielle!!

Thanks, everyone.

It's a great beginning, but there's no time to rest.
We all need to keep getting the info out there!!

Cbb,
I agree that we all need to get the information out there. I am putting together a packet for our pediatrician and I'd like to sumbit an article for our local paper before Lyme "season" next year.

Ann-OH just posted about a seminar over in the general support area, so I wrote to the presenter. http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum3/HTML/011384.html

By no means am I applauding myself, just wanting to get the word out there any way possible.

DJP,
I know you aren't applauding yourself, so I'll do that for you.
Good job!!
I'm proud of what you're doing!

When you put together a packet for a dr, you never know how many people may be helped.

If anyone wants to thank Arielle Riposta for featuring Lyme disease on the News, you can e-mail the station at:
[email protected]

Thanks, Jooooo2, for posting the website for the station.
If anyone's interested, you can read the transcripts from both nights.

Raskilnokov,
Thanks for the comments & suggestions.
I'll remember that the next time.

Problem is, the TV person has all the control over what is used.

cbb-

My daughter has Lyme again (!!) and lives in Charleston.

Her dentist just got a packet from me because he just didn't understand all of her teeth distress--etc.

Wish I could have seen it--she had to work both nights.

Clicked on comments link but nothing came up--will go back and copy it down.

How to get copies of the news report??? Would be great to send her dentist--in Charleston, too.

And I do want to thank the gal--name gone--if I can connect to link.

Ate ice cream tonight--just couldn't help myself-but now my brain is locked up tight.

Thanks

Duh--went back-not a link--will e-mail her now. Hope both nights are on www. wach.com
Saw the first night--really good-printed that one out but it'd hiding in a paper mountain on my desk.
