My husband has had 3 HEMEX tests indicating hypercoagulation.

I gave him Heparin shots for several months, then we switched to sublingual Heparin for several months and lately I have been using IV Heparin thru his PICC line. Dose has always been between 5,000 and 15,000 units.

IV Heparin helped stop severe headaches -- probably caused by Babesia. In itty bitty print on the package insert I just learned that the half life of IV Heparin is only 1/2 hour, so obviously this is not doing anything for ongoing hypercoagulation problems.

Had to stop Heparin shots due to skin sensitivity and sensitivity to pain. The shot would cause bad shaking/"seizure-like" episodes within minutes.

Has anyone else had a similar reaction to injections of any kind ???

I used to give my husband 4 shots daily -- Heparin, B12, iron and NADH but had to stop them all because of shaking episodes.

Does anyone know of a cheap source for sublingual Heparin ??? Used to order from Hopewell Pharmacy.

Has anyone who used Heparin had their HEMEX tests come back normal after treatment ??? -- my husband's test results have been worse each time.

My ISAC was very abnormal before treatment. Normal after. Are you sure the half life is only 1/2 hour. I heard it was six if done subcut.

Scrambled Brain,

The half life of IV Heparin is 1/2 hour

The half life of SQ (subcutaneous) heparin is 4 - 6 hours

This is where I goofed -- I guess my brains were scrambled the day I decided to switch my husband to IV Heparin from SQ -- LOL
