Hi Lymers,

I just got a late call from my LLMD telling my liver was 92 & 292. I had been on Sporonex for yeast and that was probably the culprit.

I was also on Bicillin and Biaxin.

Anybody know what ABXs are liver friendly?? Besides Bicillin. Also, how long do counts take to return to normal??

Thanks again,

CaliLymer

All penicylins and cephalosporins are OK: Amoxicillin, Rocephin.

Avoid tetracyclins: (Mino, tetra) or Flagyl.

Zithro, Ketec etc are probably OK, too but you have to watch your blood work.

I take a product that absolutely works, but is pricey. I've tried several times to stop taking it, but alas, will be stuck with it until treatment is over.

You might want to check out its ingredients and see if they are available elsewhere.

It's called Dr. Zhang's Hepa Formula 2, and costs $48 per month.

Hi,
I figure all the crud we are putting in our organs can't be gentle.
I learned about castor oil hot packs and have found them to be most effective. You can get the information from a company called the Heritage store. Not expensive at all.
It also forces me to sit still for an hour a day and just think about me!!!
Blessings,
Jan

I guess that must be why my dr wants to check my levels pretty regularly to make sure the liver is doing ok. Im on zithro and flagyl along with diflucan and Mepron.

Hi,
My 2 cents;
Standard Process makes 2 great products for the liver; Hepatrophin, and Betacol, they are not that expensive and I find very effective.
I have been doing castor oil hot packs for an hour every day and my liver count went down from last month(Heritage Store).
Also Milk Thistle is a must.
Both places are online.
I wish you health.
Blessings,
Marblenose

I do not take antibiotics (I have taken some OTC stuff) but still need to take milk thistle. It might just be a lyme thing independent of antibiotics.

Re: the healing of the liver. If it is given a "break" from toxin overload...for a few days, it normally regenerates itself rather quickly...we're talking a couple of days off the abx.

It is the body's major "detox" organ. It stores glycogen (about a days worth) and magnesium, etc. Those have a positive charge, ie., are alkaline. Toxins have a negative charge, ie. acidic.

Here's another supplement to think about:

Lecithin. It is needed by every cell and the cell membranes are composed of it. It protects the cells from damage. The protective sheaths around the brain and the muscle and nerve cells also contain this. It is largely composed of the B vitamin, choline (which enhances production of acetylcholine), but also contains linoleic acid and inositol (helps control anxiety like a natural Valium). Although it is a fatty substance, it acts as an emulsifying agent (in all chocolate to make it ``smooth'').

It increases brain function (memory) and aids in the absorption of thiamine by the liver and vitamin A by the intestine.

It can repair liver damage.

***It enables fats, such as cholesterol and other lipids to be removed from the body.***

However, there is a link between very low cholesterol and bowel cancer and many other problems (which happened first?), but statins (cholesterol lowering drugs) are now found (news today) to help prevent prostrate cancer.
