I was wondering If anyone was mis dx'd with ms or has any info on permanent damage, if there is any, caused by those little %$#@!#$% dancing around on my brain! So far, my eye movement seems to be cordinated again (no more lizard vision!!) but there are alot of white spots on my brain and I was just wondering If I am getting freaked out over nothing and If the amount of spots are any indication to how far gone this whole thing is. Thank You in advance... - KimmiKay

I take Avonex 2x a week and have not missed a day of work due to MS.
I met someone in 2005, who has lyme, and after telling her my symptoms and the fact that I am from Connecticut, she suggested that I see a LLMD.
The LLMD did some blood tests on me and one came back positive for lyme.
I am in the midst of seeking second opinions. However, just the chance I might be cured of the problems I have, has given me new hope and really energized me to start living life again.

Good luck to you!
I was recently dx'd, and given the research I had been doing, I went against dr's orders and went for a second opinion. I'd be chock full of rebif right now If I hadn't. My neurologist basically told me that It couldn't be aything else but ms, and advised me not to see any "so-called specialists'. That's an actual quote. So, Good look to you also. I'll be looking forward to hearing about your progress!! - KimmiKay

Yeah- I've got that OR DO I? I mean I was first diagnosed with lyme by my internist who specializes in rheumatology? I really think it was a blessing from God that I was referred to him. As I was being helped out the door- he said " I through a lyme test in there just in case". I was like okay but didn't have a clue what lyme is. Came back positive. I went on i.v. rocephin for 2months. I became better (never the same again). I became sick again-tested positive-back on i.v. rocephin-didn't get much better. That's when m.s. enters the picture. He referred me to one of the best known drs. in the U.S. for m.s. He said I had remitting/relasping m.s. I have three lesions and one small hole in mybrain. After he diagnosed me he died suddenly of a heartattack!!!! I'm seeing a new dr. for it. I have no new lesions. Here's something that might helpyou though. This new doc says there is a new lesion or anew way they look at a lesion that only indicates m.s. The old lesions I have can be sclerocis of the brain from m.s. or lyme. Maybe you could ask your doc about the difference in lesions. ~jackie

Wow, that's really horrible! I can't believe he had a heartattack!! I have recently been reading about the mri results, and there is a way for doctors to tell the difference (right now I'm holding my film up to a lamp!) They just have know what to look for, something in the middle. I actually go back this coming week to get my results, and I'm very nervous. Congrats on your good news (no new lesions) How's the new doc working for you? - KimmiKay

She's okay-but she doesn't know what to do with me. She says there is nothing she can give me to "improve my quality of life". But that's about what every other doc is saying at this point. Let me know your results. Try not to be nervous and I will be praying for you. ~jackie Posts: 61 | From Missouri | Registered: Apr 2005
