I'm on Bi-cillin ingections.

I'm having to take Diflucan for an increased yeast load. I know about watching liver enzymes.

I would just like to know how you all take it.

Do you pulse? Do you take it for a couple of weeks then as needed? Do you take it all the time?

I am nervous about being on it long term.

I just cried "Uncle" and got a scrip from my LLMD for Diflucan.

Even doing Nouriche smoothies PLUS yogurt plus low carb plus a good probiotic from the health food store, I STILL got the dreaded greenish/brown tongue thing.

Tried all the remedies, scraping, swishing, repopulating by breaking apart probiotic capsule, no help.

LLMD says take Diflucan for seven days straight.

After that, dunno what as far as maintenance.

I'm presently in second month of treatment, on Amoxy 3000 mg/day + probenicid 1500 mg.

Didn't have this problem on Doxy prior month.

I take it every day, and have been for months. I'm up to 200mg twice a day (total of 400 mg a day). I was taking 100mg twice a day most of the time.

I get a liver panel at least once a month. When my enzymes were elevated, we decreased Diflucan to 100mg a day but had to increase when yeast came...also the enzymes had decreased to normal.

Isn't Nouriche full of sugar? anything over about 5 g of sugar is too much. I don't do well eating yogurt either. I occasionally have Blue Bunny brand low carb. It has 5 g of sugar.

I take Diflucan for at least a week whenever the yeast rears its ugly head. My LLMD said permanent liver damage from it is very rare.

The dangerous drugs are those for fungal infections, such as Sporanox. Those need to be watched more closely.

I've taken 200mg of Diflucan for as long as 2 months with no problems.

The only yogurt that should be eaten on a yeast prevention diet is plain, whole milk yogurt. If it has any flavoring in it, that means it has extra sugar and/or artificial sweeteners. I've heard sucralose is like sugar when it comes to yeast, not sure if that's true or not.

Yogurt already has natural sugars in it. That's why you want the whole milk. The whole milk has more fat, therefore less carbs than the low fat or no fat.
