Hi, Cali. Sorry to miss your post until now. It's very important to say that I had NO CHOICE with this product. My liver enzymes went through the roof, and it was either go off abx and drop out of grad school, or try a strange new product and hope it worked. It's extremely expensive, but I don't dare risk anything milder while taking all these abx. Also, Dr. Zhang's office is nearby, so it was no big deal to go pick up the product. By the way, I've never tried the Hepapro, just the Hepa formula 2. While it would be unfair to list all the ingredients, the most prominent seems to be schisandra, which I've seen in some vitamin store liver flushes and products.
It took about two weeks to get the liver enzyme levels down, and they have stayed down for about two years. But you're right, you can never tell what will work for others.
I have tried to cheat many times by taking just four pills per day, but no dice. Within a couple of days, all the old symptoms return: fatigue, aching lower back, lowgrade fever, and loud grumbling sounds from the liver area.
As far as other liver products, I've had no luck with milk thistle, which everyone else loves, and some success with N-acetyl choline.
Also, it was irresponsible to keep writing that all these heavy abx combinations (like high-dose mepron, ketek and omnicef) were producing promising results, without mentioning that they can be hard on the liver. Didn't mean to seem to plug a specific product...
