How can one tell if your liver is getting too toxic. Being treated with zith/malarone again for Babs/myco - Levels went up on last test - Been on abx 10 days so far - Here it is - getting some discoloration in feet and around the tendons of the feet - a yellow brusing tint - also skin on the lower legs kind of a sickly discoloration, Kind of like some kind of congestive yucky stuff - You know , somthing that you really notice that something is not right. I noticed this kind of thing once before back when the babs was first treated 3 months ago for the babs. Along with this of course, I have the high heart rates again on and off - also coming out a perid of extreme fatigue that has started to life a bit. Darn this is getting so anoying. Thanks to all

I almost passed by question. I thought it was a ? for veterinarians!!!

You said your liver enzymes went up -- do you mean that they are high and not in the normal range? Tell us what the SGOT and SGPT numbers are.

If you are turning yellow that might not be a good sign. What is the Bilirubin number and is there a breakdown between direct and indirect bilirubin?

Are the whites of your eyes turning yellow -- that could indicate a more serious problem.

Is there any pain in the liver area?

Post your numbers and maybe we can give you a better answer.

Sorry - my Babs titers have gone up - we have not taken a liver enzyme in some time - The eyes are still very white - I guess my question has to do with discoloration due to either liver toxicity of due to the babs.
