Are any of your children around 18 mos taking Amox? If yes, what dosage of Amoxicillian was prescribed.

Dr. J's office prescribed 100ml twice a day and that seems extremely low.

Thanks

Dr J has LOTS of experience with this!

up for others to give input....I don't have children, so I don't know much about this!

Thanks Lymetoo,

I know he is the best, but I was just concerned that it seemed so low. I would have expected it to be much higher.

I'll be calling him today, but wanted to know what others experience was before I bug him again.

Thanks

My well-known and well-resepected LLMD had me get the standard dosage of Amoxicillin (based on his weight) from my son's pediatrician. He's just going to be on it for a lot longer than they'd ever prescribe. From what I've heard here, Dr. J is the cat's meow. If we lived on the other coast, his office is where we'd be.

My son is 2 years old and he takes 250 mg two times a day.

Hopefully you'll be finished with abx before your son is two but if he's still on and starts resisting taking the abx like our son did, try giving a little dab of strawberry jam, the abx, and then another dab of strawberry jam. Our son now squeals with joy at "medicine time." Now if we could just find the magic solution for tooth brushing ...
