mino has a reputation (unconfirmed) of being better than doxy for some people, but doxy is much cheaper and better tolerated by most. That's what I hear anyway.
I'm not sure there is all that much difference if the dosages are comparable. Some people do have less sun sensitivity with mino, that seems to be the main reason it's prescribed.

I think timing is everything with this fight.
I did Doxy at the beginning, went on to other orals,on to IV,back to orals.
Mino was one of the orals I did after IV and yes it was very impressive, along with Flagl,it hit a homerun.
Well,I went back to Doxy for a month and I have never had such a time. That stuff really did a number on me,It is a BBB?
Both the Mino and Doxy helped,I would never doubt the power of Doxy.Giving it a rest and hitting with other abx.was the key in great results Doxy gave me.
Good luck,we are all different with this stuff,I had to hit the cyst load, which was probably high and this Doxy cleaned house.
Never was good at typing,huh?

If you're slipping on the doxy maybe something else would be better. I had good luck with ceftin, it crosses the bbb better than most oral cephalasporins. But it's a lot more expensive.
Hope you have a good doc?

Try a name brand of doxy (Doryx) or mino (Minocin) and you will see a big difference. 200 mg of Doryx = 400 mg of generic doxycycline for me. Generic minocycline was also terrible for me.
