I posted earlier but no replies yet. I took my first dose of Low Dose Naltrexone last night. I feel terrible today- exhausted from lack of sleep and I'm getting more muscle twitching than usual.

Something that has concerned me is the effect that LDN has on the immune system. I don't think that I have any problem with mine - I NEVER get a cold. Anyone got any ideas as to why this might be?

I just don't think that I can cope with another night like that....I'm soooo tired. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

When I was on LDN prior to lyme treatment it took a week or so to get used to.

BUT when I began lyme treatment, the abxs, I felt terrible when I took the LDN.

Dr. Bahari (the founder of LDN) and I tried lowering my dosage4 from 4.5 to 3.0 then 2.0 still felt awlful I cannot take LDN when doing abxs.

Many thanks for your reply and the link, it's really been of help to get more info.

I'm not on any abxs at the moment although I'm about to see if I can start on Rocephin or Ceftin so I might think again about the LDN. Bit of a dilema... I'd rather take the abxs and wack these little critters out of my system!!!!

Tha's undrstandable. If you give LDN a good week to see while off abxs but even trying to lowerer dose then ramping up.

For "MS" type problems alot find liquid LDN easier. Go to the link I posted above and get to main articles ("return to articles") and ask them. They are very helpful.

You can even do search re: liquid LDN at bottom of the page of that website.

The fact that you never get a cold does not mean that your immune system is functioning a-ok. It probably means that your immune system is trying to fight the Lyme etc and it is so much tougher to kill that the cold virus is being killed off before it gets a chance. This is what an MD told my hubby.

Most Lyme patients have some parts of the immune system which are overactive and other parts which are underactive -- it takes very expensive specialized testing to prove this.
