ALL YOU BABESIA SUFFERERS:

Which has worked best for you? Artemesia, Mepron, both, something else? Some other combination?

I will be starting Artemesia as soon as it arrives.

Artemesia is usually used in supplement to Mepron, not separate. I personally got babesia under control with Artemesia, Plaquenil and Ketek. But, as far as I know, there is no research to back up Ketek helping with babesia.

I also had a pretty mild case of babesia.

I am on Plaquenil and Ketek for LD (also Cedax). My LLMD told me to add Artemesia for possible Babs. I'm just wondering what success others have had with this combo or any others. Thanks for your input.

Monica,

My doc wont perscribe Mepron--afraid the insurance company would come after us and her (has been taking a lot of heat lately).

I started self medicating with the artimisinin about three months ago. After the first month my twin sister told me my personality was coming back!

I broke out in a funky rash at least three times.

The last 6 weeks I have literally slept every weekend--sometimes 21 hours at a time. This is all due to the artimisinin because I only take one zith a month (pulse). Soooo.....

I'm finally taking a break because my husband (who also has LD) is ready to divorce me for sleeping all the time and my poor kids miss me.

But I think the art has really hit the babs--really, really...don't know how much more I need though...

Don't forget to pulse (take a week off every month) as the art is hard on your liver.

I tried Artemesia & Artemesin. Neither worked as well for Babs as Good ole Mepron & Zithro.
